SLIPPERY SITUATION

02/12/2008 - While crews were putting equipment back in service, it became obvious that due to the warm winters of late, motorists have forgotten that when it is cold and sleeting, bridges freeze before roads, and sure enough at 1515 Hrs., traffic came to a dead stop in front of the firehouse and we were dispatched for the MVC on the Chester River Bridge. Chief 6 and E-64 arrived to find a 2 vehicle MVC on a very icy bridge. Rescue 6 was attended but held in station. Units operated for approx. 23 minutes with 15 personnel responding to the call.

EVERYONE GETS TO PLAY

AND WHILE WE WERE OUT..

02/12/2008 - It just seems like whenever the guys from Betterton transfer into the City, they always manage a call or two. At 1248 hrs the City was alerted to assist The K&QA Rescue Squad and KEMS with a cardiac arrest in a motor vehicle. E-53 made the response and assisted with BLS and ALS care for the patient. Once clear the call they were re-directed to the Rock to standby for a while before returning to The Jewel of the Chesapeake.
