The
Chestertown Volunteer Fire Company is asking for and
needs your financial support. This letter is the only
written public contribution request for the year. Your
response is particularly important for our ability to
respond to emergencies.
Our Company,
YOUR Company, is 100% volunteers - from those who help
with the administration and business items, to the
firefighters attacking the fire and the Emergency
Medical Technicians assisting at accidents and medical
emergencies.
Areas of
our continual expenses are numerous and this year we -
like you - have had to monitor our budget closer then
ever. Many of our expenses, like electricity, fuel oil
ad fuel for vehicles, are on the increase. We have also
seen an increase in the cost of many items required on
our emergency equipment and at the response scene,
firehouse maintenance, expensive protective gear worn by
our firefighters, maintenance of our vehicles, and
financial obligations of loan payments for current
trucks. This year we had to replace our rescue vehicle
with a used one and provide equipment for it so we are
able to respond to many types of rescues.
