Combine Fire - King Grant Lane, Chestertown

At 3:10 pm on Saturday, October 10, 2020 the Chestertown VFC, along with automatic mutual aid companies, was dispatched to the 6500 block of Kings Grant Lane for the Farm Vehicle fire. This is in the Quaker Neck region of Kent County.
 
First arriving found a large combine which had a malfunction causing a small fire involving fodder. There was no open flame observed, just smoldering debris. Firefighters were hampered by the fact the smoldering debris was in an extremely difficult location to access. It required partial disassembly of the machine to extinguish.
 
Firefighters worked this incident for about 1 hour, 45 minutes. There were no injuries.
