That’s the question we heard a lot today at the firehouse - and we love it when our community is curious and engaged!
Today was our annual Pump and Ladder Testing day. If you happened to drive by and saw ladders fully extended, water flowing, and a whole lot of activity around the trucks, that’s exactly what was going on.
Every year, our fire engines and ladder trucks go through rigorous testing to ensure they are ready to perform when seconds count. This includes checking water pumps for proper pressure and flow, inspecting ladders for structural integrity, and verifying that all systems operate safely and effectively.
This testing is completed by a third-party contractor certified to inspect and certify fire apparatus. Their expertise ensures that our equipment meets national safety standards and is fully prepared for emergency response.
It’s not just about checking boxes — it’s about safety, reliability, and making sure our equipment is ready when our community needs us most.
It might look like a show, but behind every nozzle spray and ladder climb is a test that helps keep both our firefighters and our neighbors safe.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by or waved as they passed. We’re always proud to show a little behind-the-scenes action and answer your questions!
