With deep, abiding sadness, the Chestertown Volunteer Fire Company announces the passing of Life Member and Past Fire Chief Kenneth Neal. Chief Neal joined the fire company in the 1960’s and was extremely active as a firefighter.
Chief Neal served as Chief of the Chestertown VFC for two years… 1994 – 1995. His tenure was marked by the effort to build morale and promote Esprit de Corps within the ranks of the fire company.
The tradition of serving as Chief of the company runs deep in the Neal family. Ken’s father Evans Neal, served as Chief 1965 – 1970, then again in 1972. His brother Bruce Neal, served as Chief for many years, and is considered the longest tenured Fire Chief in the history of the Chestertown VFC.
