On Friday, September 25, 2026, at approximately 11:13 hours, the Chestertown Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to assist the Church Hill Volunteer Fire Company with a dwelling fire in the 100 block of Longfellow Drive in the Chester Harbor community of Chestertown, Queen Anne’s County.
Squad 6 arrived as the first-arriving unit and reported fire showing from the Charlie side of the residence. Crews deployed a 1¾-inch pre-connected attack line and began an interior attack while additional resources arrived.
As the incident progressed, crews from Chestertown, Church Hill, Sudlersville, and Centreville worked together to complete fire attack, search, ventilation, and other necessary operations. Through the coordinated efforts of all the responding companies, the fire was brought under control.
While Chestertown crews were committed to the incident, The Community Fire Company of Millington provided an engine to stand by in Chestertown. This ensured that any additional emergency calls received during the incident could still be answered.
Chestertown operated with Squad 6, Tower 6 and Tanker 6.
